ORBITAL WELDING
POWER SOURCE
CXM (Chicago Extruded Metals Co.) has
introduced BioBrass™, a family of nonleaded brass alloys that conform to the
latest North American plumbing standards. Lead typically has been added to
brass to improve its machining properties,
states the manufacturer. The alloy is
designed to enable high machine speeds
and low tool wear, as well as hold precise
tolerances.
The alloy can be engineered to increase
its natural antimicrobial properties. When
left uncoated, it inhibits the growth of dis-ease-causing bacteria, including MRSA, E.
coli, and staphylococcus. In addition, it
contains no silicone or phosphates, and can
be mixed with the C36000 and other brass-es for recycling with no adverse effects.

Polysoude has introduced the P6 orbital
welding power source with six axes and
autoprogramming.
The 300-amp, mobile GTAW system
features real-time welding data
recording. The machine not only detects
the type of tool connected, but it
also knows within which limit values the
tool can work. Autoprogramming takes
over the adjustment of the welding
parameters.
A large touchscreen provides the
human-machine interface. It issues all
commands to the internal electronics via
the software and transmits the status of
the joining process to the operator.

The AutoJet®
model 1550 modular spray system
from Spraying
Systems Co. helps
ensure accurate
placement of the
liquid being
sprayed to minimize waste. The
system provides
automatic on/off control of electrically
and pneumatically actuated spray nozzles.
Proper flow and drop size help eliminate quality control problems caused by
uneven application and improve worker
safety by minimizing misting and over-spray. Accurate spray placement helps
reduce maintenance and the use of chemicals and coatings.
The system is 2. 5 ft. tall and 1 ft.
wide. It is available in three configurations to allow users to select the necessary level of control: liquid pressure only,
liquid and atomizing air pressure or liquid, or atomizing air and fan air pressure.
Applications include lubricating,
coating, and marking.

PIPE, TUBE NOTCHER
Heck Industries’ WFN4 pipe and tube
notcher uses a power-driven gearbox to
produce 90-degree notches for weld fit-up
saddles.
The tool notches from 1⁄ 4 to 23⁄ 8 in.,
and notches can be made at 38 hits per
minute for production notching jobs.
