Control system assists in nor-
malizing pipe weld seams to
API standards
The latest pipe alloys, manufacturing
methods, and thicker walls make normalizing weld seams on oil and gas pipe more
challenging than before.
EFD Induction has developed an
improved control system for weld seam
normalizing. The system provides three
functions crucial for successful, safe, and
cost-effective seam normalizing, according to the company. The functions are
accurate power control, automatic coil
positioning, and various safety, quality,
and communication features.

Programmable loader handles
round, shaped tubes
The Hautau
SC30 dual-blade shear
cutoff
machine is
available with
a new servo-dial loading
system for improved handling, feeding,
and cutting tube up to 3 in. OD and
0.120-in. wall thickness. It handles
rounds, squares, rectangles, and other
shapes.
The programmable tube feeder allows
cutting up to three lengths from each
tube. It makes up to 1,800 cuts per hour
with repeatability of 0.005 in. per 30 in.
feed.
The fully integrated, programmable
dial loading system has a series of tube
nests to orient up to 24 tube shapes correctly with the cutoff die. Setup time is
less than five minutes.
