billets, rails, and profiles.
The machine features a compact, rigid
design; hardened spindle gears ground for
minimum backlash; a saw blade guide
and dampening device; low-maintenance
design; dry operation; saw blade
changeover in less than three minutes;
double and triple measurement strokes
for extra-length cuts; and chip disposal.
Options include stock size measur-
ing, automated length measuring systems, bar manipulating systems, infeed

UV INSPECTION LAMPS
Spectroline’s
MAXIMA™ ML-
3500 series UV
lamps are designed
for use by NDT
inspectors to
detect small surface defects,
hydrocarbon contamination, and other flaws. They employ
microdischarge light technology to deliver
up to 10 times the UV-A output of conventional HID inspection lamps, the company
reports.
The ML-3500S model features a spot
reflector and has a nominal steady-state
UV-A intensity of 50,000 µ Wcm2 at 15 in.
The ML-3500D with a spot reflector and
diffusing filter has a nominal steady-state
UV-A intensity of 14,000 µ Wcm2 at 15 in.
The ML-3500FL features a flood bulb that
delivers a nominal steady-state intensity of
4,500 µ Wcm2 at 15 in.
All bulbs have a rated life of 2,000
hours. An instant on/off/restrike eliminates
lamp warm-up. The lamps emit almost
zero hazardous UV-B and minimum
visible light.
