FD has introduced a variety of advanced technologies and equipment over
the years. These include high-capacity production lines, automatic roll
changing capabilities, and automatic square and rectangle pipe lines. In
this space, we’d like to talk about the characteristics of high-capacity units.
Integrated speed and decreased changeover time are the two main factors
to consider when a company is looking to boost pipe production capacity.
Integrated speed. Why is the integrated speed more important than the
highest speed? Because the capacity of weld pipe line does not depend on
the highest speed. For example, a 50mm by 3mm, high-speed mill with a
maximum speed of 140 meters per minute and 200-k W, high-frequency
welder is obviously not a high-capacity mill. We determine that by the
presence of the high-frequency welder. The mill can run at high speed for
small sizes, but runs slower for larger sizes. A higher-power welder must
be used to maximize the mill’s effectiveness.
To achieve high capacity, the cut-off must keep up with the mill. In addition to the company’s well-known Alfa punching machine, only FD’s dou-ble-saw flying cut-off can meet the speed requirements of the high-speed
mill. Still taking the 50mm mill as an example, the FD double-cart flying
cutter can run at 200 meters per minute (650 feet per minute) without
reduction of blade life and cut quality.
