Antirust system helps tube mill
improve product quality
Kent Corp. has supplied a Die Tronic LCP
antirust system to a tube mill in northeast
Ohio that needed to reduce consumption of rust preventive, eliminate hazardous oil and fumes from the plant environment, and ensure complete corrosion
protection for its tube.
The system applies the exact amount
of product (in g/m2) required. Since introducing the system, the company has
decreased its overall consumption of rust
preventive products by 60 percent. The
system also has eliminated hazardous
fumes to which operators were previously exposed.
The system is available for 0.5- to
15-in.-OD tubing. Standard systems in-
clude a main spray box housing with
an interchangeable spray box, adjust-
able proprietary nozzles, and 5-in. LCD
touchscreen controls. Available options
include an oil/mist extraction system to
vacuum and collect oversprayed prod-
uct; an oil-recovery system to collect,
filter, and recycle any product that does
not reach the tube; and flow control sen-
sors to detect nozzle clogs.
Tube fabricating equipment
to be displayed
BLM Group USA will feature its new
LT8.10 fiber laser tube cutting system,
along with three all-electric tube bend-
ing machine models integrated with ro-
botic load/unload to demonstrate a fully
automated production process.
With its 3-k W fiber laser, the cutting
system provides flexibility for precise laser cutting on a variety of materials for
tube diameters up to 9. 5 in. The system is
suitable for cutting highly reflective materials and can process round, square,
rectangular, and special-shaped tube or
bar and open profiles.
The Smart tube bending machine processes tube with diameters up to 1 in.
It is suitable for bending complicated
shapes and multiple-radii tubes.
The Elect 102 tube bender handles
tubes up to 4 in. dia. It can bend multiple
radii using stack tooling for right-hand or
